070 – Houses – 14 Oudezijds Voorburgwal – "Het Wapen van Riga / Leeuwenburg" – AD1615
Built for Wessel Becker, a Riga (Latvia) merchant, and owned by the Hendrick de Keyser Foundation
since 1929, the house was completely restored in 1940. Above the front entrance area is a
stone plaque depicting the Riga coat of arms above a castle from which a lion's head appears.
Hence the name of the house!
