024 "De Stadsschouwburg" – Municipal Theatre – AD1894
Designed by Jan L. Springer, J. B. Springer (Jan's father) and A. L. van Gendt in neo-renaissance style and employing common brick and sandstone in its facades, the "Stadsschouwburg" still looks exactly as it did when it first opened its doors to the public in 1894.  To get a feel for how it fits in with its surroundings, here are two views from the "Weteringschans" and "het Leidseplein", one is from the left and the other is from the right.  For a look at the oppulence of its (gilded) interior, here is a view of its stage,  and here of its seating area.
