024 "De Stadsschouwburg" – Municipal Theatre – AD1894
Designed by Jan L. Springer, J. B. Springer (Jan's father)
and A. L. van Gendt in neo-renaissance style and employing common brick and sandstone in its facades, the
"Stadsschouwburg" still looks exactly as it did when it first opened its doors to the public in 1894. To get a feel for
how it fits in with its surroundings, here are two views from the "Weteringschans" and "het Leidseplein", one is from
the left and the other is from
