015 – The "Kalverstraat" –
Amsterdam's fabled pedestrian shopping street leading from
"The Dam" and its Palace to "Munt Square" and its tower visible in this picture. Here is
a view
of the same street as seen from Munt Square. Notice the quadrilingual banner strung above the street.
Also, take a look at the sign above that book store on the right. With the exception of the (Dutch) word "Boek", the
rest of the sign is in English - and that in the middle of Amsterdam, Holland NOT in Amsterdam, NY!
