A Photo Tour of Amsterdam 004 – The "Montelbaanstoren" – AD±1400 – The "Montelbaans tower" saw its beginning around 1400 when the bottom half (the brick part) was built to serve as one of the many watch towers that were part of the defensive wall system that surrounded Amsterdam in those days.
